Seller FAQ's
General
How do I sell on Tejori?
Create an account, upload your product details, set a price, and publish your listing.
Is there a charge to list on Tejori?
Listing is free. We only charge a 20% admin fee when your item sells, so you keep 80% of the sale price. Buyers pay delivery separately.
Is dry cleaning required before I list my outfit?
We strongly recommend it. Your outfit should be clean, fresh and ready for its next wearer. For occasionwear, we recommend professional dry cleaning where appropriate before listing.
How should I photograph my outfit?
Good photos help buyers see exactly what they’re getting and can help your outfit sell faster.
You don’t need professional equipment. Your phone and some natural light will do the job.
- Use natural light where possible and avoid flash or harsh lighting.
- Keep the background clean and uncluttered so the outfit is the focus.
- Show the full outfit clearly, including front and back.
- Take photos from different angles so buyers can see the details, fit and overall condition.
- Include close-ups of embroidery, fabric, labels, embellishments and any other details worth seeing.
- Be honest about wear: photograph and mention any marks, stains, damage or imperfections.
- Make sure your outfit is clean, steamed/ironed and looking its best before photographing it.
- Include photos from when you wore it.
Think: if you were buying it, what would you want to see? The more clearly you show your outfit, the more confident buyers can feel about buying it preloved.
Payments
How do I price my outfit?
Think about what it’s worth today, not just what you paid for it.
When setting your price, consider:
- Original price – what you paid and whether the item is still available to buy new.
- Condition – unworn, excellent, good or showing signs of wear.
- Brand and designer – established and sought-after brands may hold more resale value.
- Age and style – current styles and timeless pieces may attract more interest than older trends.
- Demand – search Tejori to see what similar pieces are being listed or selling for.
- Completeness – include matching dupattas, trousers, belts, sleeves or other original pieces where applicable.
Choosing the price for your item
Here are recommendations to help you price your item based on its condition:
| Item condition | Suggested price |
|---|---|
| New / Like New | 60%–80% of the retail price |
| Very good | 40%–60% of the retail price |
| Good / Satisfactory | 20%–40% of the retail price |
Our tip: A great outfit at the right price is much more likely to find its next wearer and remember you’re not just selling an outfit; you’re giving someone the chance to own a piece of South Asian fashion for less than buying new.
How long do payouts take?
Payments are usually processed within 5 business days after delivery.
How do I get paid?
Payments are transferred to your registered bank account or wallet.
Posting your item
Who chooses and pays for postage?
The buyer selects and pays for their preferred Royal Mail delivery option at checkout depending on the weight of the parcel. Available options may include next-day delivery or delivery within 3–5 working days, depending on the service selected.
The delivery cost is added to the order separately from the item price.
Once the seller receives the delivery instructions and label, the seller is responsible for packaging and dispatching the item within the required timeframe.
Tejori facilitates the delivery option through its website, while Royal Mail is responsible for transporting and delivering the parcel.
If there is a problem with delivery, such as a delay, loss or damage, please contact Tejori with your order and tracking details so we can try and help with the next steps.
Please note: the buyer pays the item price plus the applicable delivery cost at checkout. Please make sure your delivery address is correct at checkout.
How do I post an item?
Once a buyer purchases your item and selects their delivery option, you’ll receive an email confirming the sale with your Royal Mail shipping label attached.
You have 5 working days to:
- Pack the item securely to help prevent damage during transit.
- Attach the shipping label provided to your parcel.
- Post the parcel using the instructions provided with your label.
Once the parcel has been scanned and the shipment is registered, your order status will update to “Processing” on your Tejori dashboard.
Please note: Items must be posted within the 5-working-day timeframe. If an item is not dispatched within this period, the sale may be cancelled and the buyer may be refunded.
When will I receive payment?
Payouts are processed depending on your payment provider and after delivery confirmation.
Your payment will be transferred to your registered payment account, minus Tejori’s 20% admin fee.
Your dashboard will show the status of your order and payment.
Please note: Payment may be delayed if there is an active dispute, delivery issue or other issue affecting the order.
Important rules around postage
- Keep all messages inside The Tejori Marketplace platform: This helps us to review the issues if there’s a problem and protects both buyer and seller.
- No payments outside The Tejori Marketplace: Paying outside The Tejori Marketplace removes buyer protection and means we cannot help if something goes wrong.
Buyer FAQ's
Can I make an offer on an item?
Yes, you can make an offer. The seller will accept or decline.
What happens after I buy an item?
Once you complete your purchase, you’ll see “Order Confirmed” on your dashboard.
You don’t need to do anything, the seller now prepares your item and has 5 working days to post it out.
How will I know when my item has been posted?
As soon as the seller posts your item, the status on your dashboard will change to “Shipped”. You will also see the tracking number and link in your order.
When is the payment taken and released to the seller?
Payment is taken from your account when you complete your purchase. Your payment is then held securely until your order has been delivered.
Once tracking confirms delivery, you have 48 hours to raise a dispute, strictly limited to the eligible categories outlined in Tejori’s Buyer Protection & Disputes Policy.
If no eligible dispute is raised within 48 hours of confirmed delivery, the payment will be released to the seller.
This process allows you to receive and check your purchase before the seller receives the funds.
